Cookie Policy

How Zavia GIS Consulting uses cookies and similar technologies on this Site, and how you can control them.

Last updated: May 24, 2026

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your web browser when you visit a website. They allow the site to remember your preferences and improve your experience. Similar technologies include local storage and session storage, which serve comparable purposes.

2. What cookies does this Site use?

Zavia GIS Consulting’s site is designed to use as few cookies as possible. The cookies and storage we currently use fall into these categories:

2.1 Strictly necessary — always on

  • Consent preference (local storage): remembers whether you have responded to the cookie banner, so we don’t show it on every page. Stored in your browser's local storage under the key zavia_cookie_consent. Does not contain personal information.
  • Netlify Forms anti-spam (session): when you submit our contact form, our hosting provider may use a short-lived cookie to validate the submission and prevent abuse.

2.2 Analytics and marketing — not currently in use

We do not currently use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag, or any other third-party tracking technology. If we add these in the future, this Cookie Policy will be updated and, where required by law (including in the EU/UK under GDPR), you will be asked for consent before any non-essential cookies are set.

2.3 Third-party assets

  • Google Fonts: the Site loads Inter and JetBrains Mono fonts from Google’s CDN (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com). Google may log IP addresses as part of standard delivery. No cookies are set by these requests.

3. Managing cookies

You have several ways to manage cookies and similar storage:

  • Re-open the cookie banner:
  • Browser settings: most browsers let you block or delete cookies. See the help pages for Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge.
  • Opt-out tools (for when we add analytics later): Network Advertising Initiative opt-out, Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out.

Note: blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent parts of the Site (such as the contact form) from working correctly.

4. EU / UK visitors and GDPR

If you are visiting from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction where consent for non-essential cookies is legally required, you will see a cookie consent banner on your first visit. You can accept all cookies, accept only strictly necessary cookies, or close the banner without choosing. Non-essential cookies will not be set without your explicit opt-in.

See our Privacy Policy — EU / UK visitors for the full statement of your rights under GDPR.

5. Changes

We may update this Cookie Policy as our use of cookies changes. The “Last updated” date reflects the most recent change.
